Home Care: Haircolor Maintenance after the salon.
"Your hair looks nice, I love the color, did you just have it done"? "Thank you, I went to the salon yesterday".
You come from the salon and three weeks later your color has faded, your hair feels and looks dry, you just had a haircut but it looks like you need another, does this sound familiar? Do you know why these are your results? Ooh, I know 🖐🖐🖐🖐 Pick me, Pick me. Read on to find out why.
The results are in and some of the reasons for your hair troubles are caused from,
1. You have a habit of shampooing too often.
Did you know that it is not necessary to shampoo your tresses daily? Technically your hair is not dirty after one day. Shampoo is used to cleanse your hair and scalp but when it is not dirty you are doing work for no reason. I bet you are doing it out of habit. But, do you remember back in the day when your mom or grandma went to the salon once a week and had her hair shampooed then roller set? They did not dream of touching their hair before their next salon visit. Guess what, they did okay with the fact that their hair was not "clean" for a week. No, its not gross, its called time management. Lol. Think of all the things that you could accomplish if you did not shampoo and style everyday. What kind of time would that add to your day, then week? If you think that you sweat and your hair gets oily, use a dry shampoo. I like Scruples Dry Shampoo. It has a fresh fragrance and does not leave a leave a white residue.
2. When you do shampoo, you are not using the shampoo referred to you by your stylist, that she picked specifically for you and your hair care needs.
Its Color insurance. Your stylist is not just selling you shampoo. She or he is providing you the resources to protect your investment. Stylist use products that they know and trust. Trust your stylist, that's why you go to them. Take a look at this video that I found on Facebook
3. Tip- Fashion colors, such as reds, blues, mermaid hair, you know, the fun colors that the cool kids are wearing, everything that is trending in 2017. These colors need to be shampooed with cold water. Warm water exposes the cuticle, the outer layer of the hair, and pulls the color out.
And finally...
4. You rinse your conditioner out with warm water.
Using cool water to rinse out your conditioner seals the cuticle to aid in moisture retention and smooths frizz. Who wants frizzy hair, right.
The next time that you visit your salon professional, get their recommendations as to what products they would like for you to use for your hair. The best thing about getting the recommendation from your stylist is that all salon professional products are guaranteed. It also takes the guess work out of standing in the aisle of Target smelling all of the shampoos to see which one has the best scent... You know that's how you choose your shampoo. STOP IT. Lol. Ask your stylist. They want the best for you and your hair.
